Time to Listen?

When UN Secretary General Kofi Annan warns that you could be in violation of international law: “If they fail to agree on a common position and action is taken without the authority of the Security Council, the legitimacy and support for any such action will be seriously impaired.”,

AND

When a respected former President outlines 5 points by which your proposed war fails as a just war:

“The war can be waged only as a last resort, with all nonviolent options exhausted.
The war’s weapons must discriminate between combatants and noncombatants.
Its violence must be proportional to the injury we have suffered.
The attackers must have legitimate authority sanctioned by the society they profess to represent.
The peace it establishes must be a clear improvement over what exists.”

AND

When another former President, also known as your dad, tells you “You’ve got to reach out to the other person. You’ve got to convince them that long-term friendship should trump short-term adversity.”, as he did in a speech at Tufts University on the 26th of February 2003,

THEN,

then perhaps you really ought to pay attention, and listen to what those people, and millions more around the world, are saying. A stubborn obstinacy is not always a virtue, and an ability to listen to reason demonstrates true leadership.
