I went to my first model railroad show today in Wichita.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised.
The crowd was larger and more diverse than at stamp shows I’ve attended at the same facility, so that was a good start.
The vending area was reasonably large for such a relatively small show. More emphasis on HO and the larger scales than N, but did find a couple Great Northern boxcars.
The real highlight of the show was the track layouts in the back of the hall. I’d never seen, besides in pictures, such large and elaborate setups! I spent as much time back there as I did in the vending area and took a few photos as well. My favorites are shown below.
