We took a late spring trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in early June. We had great weather, with pleasant temperatures and clear skies.
I took my now regular hike around Bear Lake again this year. It’s been a couple of years since I last hiked here. Last year it was too rainy. The year before, we came in May and it was snowing too heavily to hike.
Here are some photos from the trip:
Here’s a view of the path around the lake. It’s a well maintained trail and easy to walk on.
This view of the mountains is better this time of year than in the fall, so here you go!
Even in the fall, there is a bit of snow on the back end of the trail, right before it returns to the parking lot. In June, there is a lot of snow!
The next two shots are looking down on a raging stream, heavy with melting snow.
The last two shots were taken near the big horn sheep crossing. We did see a couple, but I didn’t get any good close-up photos.
I did get the elk playing around in the water, and that was pretty cool. The last shot is a wide view of the elk and the sheep.
That image of the playful elk made my heart happy! This is a *gorgeous* walk to get to do, even if only once a year.
Beautiful photos and glad you could recover the page.
